Travels: I'm back (sort of)

Hey friends! As you can tell, we are horrible at fulfilling our promises of podcasting and blogging while touring. We're the worst! Luckily, the shows have just been TOO GOOD so that made us too busy to attempt to continue these side projects. I can't even believe anyone really listened to that podcast outside of our parents, so it has been neat to hear that you guys miss it! Whenever someone tells me that at a show, I'm shocked and suspicious.

Travels: Florida Phase 1 - The Casino Diaries

It’s rare that we have a summer like this one - free of any and all touring, press, and recording. While it doesn’t mean we’re free from work (still have to promote singles, get the tour together, and all of that jazz), we’re trying to relish every second of our low-key summer. Who knows when we’ll get another one like it, yaknowwutimean? So we decided that in order to make the best use of our non-existent vacation fund we'd go visit family in Florida for week one of FLORIDAPALOOZA 2015.

Lately: A Move

I'm going to spare you the "oh, it's been a while since I blogged thing" and get right to what's in the now. Feel good about that? Great!

The time finally came for us to move a lot of our stuff down to the Tennessee homestead. While we had been going back and forth quite a bit, we decided that it was time for us to get a little more settled and be semi-normal people for a while. We can never be fully-normal people… but that’s just how we were born, with a dash of weirdo. Anyway, the move did not go as smoothly as anticipated. It never does, but this was full on, take me to the nuthouse, I can’t live this way, CRAZY.

A New York New Year (+ Resolutions)

If you've followed me since last year (or even the year before - yikes!), you might recall that I am not a fan of resolutions and never make them. However, now that I'm slightly older, yet much wiser, I've decided to amend that decision. It doesn't hurt to kick off the new year on a positive note with some nice goals in mind. I started thinking about what I should resolve to do and out of pure unoriginality all I could come up with were health resolutions -- which honestly don't make that much sense for me. Get ready to hate me: I don't really like dessert, I kind of never eat sugar, I drink so much water that I constantly have to pee, and I don't have too much trouble motivating myself to exercise. My insides are pretty safe and sound.

Seasonally Affected

Fall is officially here. Or wait, it was here and now it's gone again. Oh it's back! I'm not talking about the date of the Autumnal Equinox marking the calendar start of autumn/fall. I'm talking about ACTUAL fall weather which seems more like a tease half the time. I feel like we are predisposed to obsess over it. It's such a welcome break from the sweltering heat that almost every person walks around with a dopey "IT'S FALL!" look on their face while taking an iPhone photo of a dead leaf.

Best of Beijing

I've been thinking about Beijing a lot lately. No real reason, just reminiscing I guess. We incorporated a trip to China as part of our honeymoon, which is something most people are surprised to hear. It's not exactly a top destination for newlyweds. However, we wanted to use our honeymoon as an opportunity to explore parts of the world we never would otherwise. China isn't on the horizon for touring and we were craving a bit of a cultural shock.

Best of Beijing

February, Love, + Paris.

Since we're in the midst of the month of St. Valentine, I thought I'd share some of the things that are rocking my world these days. First of all - this view. This actual view. From my actual camera. TO DIE FOR. So thankful to wake up to this everyday. I promise to show you around the neighborhood soon. As usual, I still haven't finished posting out the rest of our adventures that came before this. Other than the view, let's go over ten lovely things!
