I'm going to spare you the "oh, it's been a while since I blogged thing" and get right to what's in the now. Feel good about that? Great!

The time finally came for us to move a lot of our stuff down to the Tennessee homestead. While we had been going back and forth quite a bit, we decided that it was time for us to get a little more settled and be semi-normal people for a while. We can never be fully-normal people… but that’s just how we were born, with a dash of weirdo. Anyway, the move did not go as smoothly as anticipated. It never does, but this was full on, take me to the nuthouse, I can’t live this way, CRAZY. Ron tells the story better, but essentially U-Haul screwed us over 12 hours before our move time and the punches just kept coming. One punch in particular came in the form of a tire catching ON FIRE AND EXPLODING on the trailer that Ron was driving our stuff down in. They then felt like the next best move was to leave him on the side of the highway for six hours while they farted around and sent a mechanic to the WRONG STATE. Luckily, Ron was fine, but not only was he stranded for hours upon hours, this also set our move back an entire day - which meant extra dollars for the movers on the Tennessee end. What did we get for enduring this debacle? A U-Haul gift certificate! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! After speaking to no less than 50 people about the situation, we gave up. No point in trying to talk about human feelings and common sense with a massive corporation who could care less.

Enough about that. Before we left town, I ran all over the place taking photos of the streets I called mine for so long. New York is just so beautiful to me - even with the hot summer garbage smell that lays over the city for approximately three months. This isn’t goodbye to New York, it’s just a break to clear our heads and plan our next move (which I think a lot of you will like). Remember, we’ve done this before - this time we’re just a little less homeless

What’s next, you ask? Well after one entire week in the Tennessee house, we will be spending 3 weeks in the Sunshine State. That’s right - FLORIDA. Family visits and a wedding have called us down, so that’s where we’re off to. I’ll be sure to document this one for you. Florida is never anything less than entertaining.
